That the first buds bursted from dry twigs and everything was so lively signaled the arrival of March, 8^th – the International Women’s Day. At that time, the rosy cheeks of beautiful women completed the picture of fascinating spring and drew people closer to each other.

It was also the time when all staff members of Sunrise Media Joint-stock Company held the Cooking Contest for Men in which the gentlemen revealed their hidden talents for the ladies.

The Contest was held by the company’ Labour Union under the guidance of the Board of Directors. Its criteria included aesthetics, nutrition, taste, good presentations and pleasing the ladies – the most important factor. Expenses of the Contest was sponsored by the Board of Directors.

All departments had been filled with lively atmosphere on the threshold of the Contest. Many meetings, from preparatory to official had continuously been arranged to find tasty recipes, prepare special dishes as well as present the dishes in the most meaningful way. How charming were the gentlemen who were hastily preparing food for the ladies!

The atmosphere of the banquet hall started to be warmed up at 3 p.m. Every curiosity grew towards the dishes on display under funny or meaningful name such as Tinh Mau Tu (Maternal love), Vu Khuc Song Phung (the Dance of Phoenix), Ga Doan Vien (the Reunion of Chicken Family), and Ga Khong Loi Thoat (Inescapable Chicken). Everyone were waiting for the official start of the Contest.

The Scriptwriter Department brought to the contest “Bun Cuon Thap Cam” (the Rolling Vietnamese Pho) and “Nom Tai Heo Hoa Chuoi” (a combination of fresh vegetables, pig’s ears and banana flower

The fairy tale of the maternal love of a fish and her cubs is succesfully demonstrated in the steam fish called “Maternal love” of the Assistant Animation Department. The sweet taste of fish, the sweet and sour taste of vegetables and cucumber and the strong taste of dipping sauce made the dish incredibly delicious.

In the Contest, flowers were given, poems were recited and songs about maternal love, the love for the motherland and the love between men and women were sung, which melted the women’s heart and filled it with love.

The Judges finally chose five outstanding departments:

The Judges had a very hard time deciding the winners.

The Editor and International Cooperation Department won the first prize

The second prize belonged to “The Reunion of the Chicken Family”

The third prizes belonged to “Maternal Love” of the Assistant Animation Department, “Toasted chicken and sticky rice served with bird meat” of the Technical Department and “the Dance of Phoenix” of In-betweens Department.

It was drizzling and fairly cold outside, but the hearts of the ladies of Sunrise Media and Sum Pharma were warmed up since they were loved and cared for. The Cooking Contest on the occasion of the International Womens day evoked lots of feeling and raised an everlasting spirit of Sunrise Media “Work Hard, Play Hard”
